The international festival held in the South of France from May 18-28 features films from all over the globe. Debutante and seasoned filmmakers alike come to revel in the festivities and to find distributors for their projects.
At least six Iranians in cinema will see their films either showcased or nominated for awards. Legendary filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami ‘s upcoming drama 24 Frames will be featured in the 70th Anniversary Events Section.
Afsaneh Dehrouyeh’s film Capture is a nominee. We were fortunate to do a Q+A with Ms. Dehrouyeh, who starred on FX’s Tyrant.
Also nominated is Anahita Ghazvinizadeh for her film They. Other nominees include Ali Soozanzadeh, Mo Rasoulof and Alireza Ghasemi for their films.
