The HBO series Entourage was what propelled my passion for Hollywood. Seeing the behind scenes working of how film deals are put together with agents, actors and the premise around a creative industry, was very enticing.
Part of the reason why I created The Persian Observer where I write of biopic casting articles and submit my spec scripts was due to Doug Ellin and Entourage. The HBO show not only has inspired myself and countless others who strive to get their creative ideas into the film medium, but it has inspired Hollywood as well to make feature films.
During Entourage’s run, many feature films starring Vinny Chase (Adrian Grenier) were created. Films that had not been made yet in Hollywood but have been made since. Two notable ones include Aquaman and Medellin. The latter is the story of Pablo Escobar, which was the premise of Narcos Season’s 1&2.
Entourage also set the stage for Los Angeles to recieve not one but two NFL teams. In the show Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) becomes part of a team to help L.A. get an NFL team back.
Many directors and also made cameos in Entourage as well. Including Martin Scoresese, Peter Berg and Nick Cassavetes.
Entourage most probably gave Tinseltown the ideas for Aquaman and a Pablo Escobar biopic. Vinny Chase was also involved for a biopic of Enzo Ferrari in a film to be called Enzo. We wrote how Robert De Niro should play Enzo Ferrari in a biopic as well.
