Michael Shayan’s ‘Avaaz’ is a Must See Show and Hailed a Tour De Force !

Michael Shayan‘s new play Avaaz at the South Coast Repertory is a Tour De Force of emotion. The show makes audiences laugh, cry, and be thoroughly moved. Set against the backdrop of Persian New Year (Norooz), Shayan plays his mother, Roya, and describes her journey of leaving Iran, and settling a new in America facing many challenges.

Michael eloquently plays his mother in the aftermath of the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Shayan resonates great emotional depth, with wailing shouts of despair and cries of laughter. The show set against the backdrop of a large and elegant haft-sin. Norooz is the backdrop of the poignant immigrant story.

Avaaz is directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel – The show is adefinitive Must See for audiences of all backgrounds. Shayan speaks English and interjects Farsi for emphasis as Roya Audiences will be thoroughly moved by this new masterpiece of a play.

Shayan is best known for his work : Book of Queer which was awarded by GLAAD.
