Prime Time Persian : Sarah Shahi Making History as the First Actress of Iranian Descent to Play the Lead in a Network Drama in the Upcoming NBC Series Reverie

Sarah Shahi is no stranger to Prime Time. The actress with ties to Iranian royalty, (She is a descendent of Fath-Ali Shah Qajar) has been a part of a string of television hits, including The L Word, The Sopranos, Chicago Fire, Person of Interest, Dawson’s Creek, and Fairly Legal, just to name a few.

Shahi, 38, is now starring as the female lead in the new NBC drama Reverie. Starring as Mara Kint, the star of the show, Shahi is making history as the first actress of Iranian descent to play the lead protagonist in a network series.

Sarah Shahi has starred alongside Hollywood heavyweights including Sylvester Stallone in the film Bullet to the Head, Jon Voight in the series Ray Donovan, and is currently filming Hangman co-starring Al Pacino.

Born Aahoo Jahounsouz Shahi, she will now carry a show on her own as the main lead. Reverie co-stars Dennis Haysbert, best known for his “You’re in Good Hands with All-State” commercials. With Sarah Shahi as THE Lead in Reverie, it’s NBC’s execs and viewers that will be in good hands with Sarah Shahi. A Prime Time Persian with prolific talent.

Reverie premieres on NBC in May 2018.
