When a doppelgänger comes along as uncanny as Brigitte Bardot and Rachel Bilson, a biopic becomes a mandatory suggestion. Bardot is synoymous with iconic French cinema and fashion. Bilson is a well known American television and film actress who comes from a family of filmakers – a history that crossed with Bardot’s era of films.

Brigitte Bardot was an international sex symbol during Hollywood’s Golden Age. She is now 83 years old and had been retired from acting since 1973. Bardot appeared in 47 films and has recorded over 60 songs.  She has spent her second career as an animal rights activist.

Rachel Bilson is a bona fide fashionista – another similarity to Bardot, who was a fashion model.

Bilson, 36, has been featured in numerous television shows and films. She is best known as the star of The O.C. and the Hart of Dixie. She has over 1 Million Instagram followers and has become a reputable fashion expert – similar to Bardot, who was a fashionista and model.

Bardot and Rachel Bilson have uncanny smilar facial features. The same sleek, raised eyebrows, shape of their eyes, and the same signature eye shadow extending to the corner of the eye. The shape of their lips with the extension of their philtrum is also similar. Their teeth are also similar, in their positioning and their angle along the upper lip line.

A Bardot biopic was suggested in 2009 starring Jamie King as Bardot, to have been directed by her husband Kyle Newman. Bardot herself was adamantly against the idea. Citing that her personality was hers alone and that no film representation could capture her essence.

We beg to differ with Mrs. Bardot. When you have Rachel Bilson, who looks eerily similar to Bardot, a biopic has to be made. With Mrs. Bardot living or not. Why ? Because it’s like going back in time. When Val Kilmer portrayed Jim Morrison of The Doors in the Oliver Stone eponymous picture it really was like watching a documentary.

Bardot’s life could be captured at the same age that Bilson is now. Bardot retired from acting at age 38. A story could be proposed about Bardot’s last years in acting and her transition to animal rights activisim. Or since Bilson could pass for 25, Bardot could be shown in the height of her film career.

Flashbacks could be in the film with Bardot (Bilson) being shown in her 20’s and 30’s. We suggest Liz Hannah for a script, Marty Scorcese directing, and Jeremy Renner producing.

One thing is certain : Rachel Bilson’s next film role and a breakthrough one at that, should be her playing Brigitte Bardot – S’il vous plaît.
