Writer and director Ramin Bahrani is directing Sean Penn and Mel Gibson in an upcoming film, The Professor and the Mad Man.
Bahrani directed 99 Homes starring Michael Shannon and Andrew Garfield. Bahrani is set to also direct Fahrenheit 451, adapting Ray Bradbury’s classic novel for HBO.
Bahrani is a 41 year old Iranian American who’s other directing credits include the award winning films Man Push Cart, Goodbye Solo, Chop Shop and Plastic Bag.
Bahrani ‘s film 99 Homes was co-written by Amir Naderi with a story by Bahrani and Bahareh Azimi. Bahrani’s production company Noruz Films was involved with its production. Ramin Bahrani joins another prolific Ramin with HBO, Ramin Djawadi. Djawadi has composed the score for many Hollywood films, but most notablly for HBO, Game of Thrones and Westworld.
