Steven Beitashour Scores First Career LAFC Goal Against FC Dallas

Steven Beitashour was already an instrumental addition to LAFC – the MLS expansion team hosting their home games at the pristine new Banc of California stadium. Playing stellar defense all season, the reigning MLS Champ (with Toronto FC) also can contribute on offense. The Free Agent acquisition scored a goal in the 9th minute against FC Dallas last night in front of a sell out home crowd of 22,000.

Beitashour was instrumental in leading Toronto FC to an MLS Championship last season and has been a standout defender thus far this season for LAFC. Helping lead the newest MLS team to five wins and one draw in eight games. LAFC is currently in second place in the Western Conference.

Being a defensive player by no means makes it easy to score. Having to be on the opposite side of the pitch the majority of the game. Thus, Beitashour’s goal is even that much more special. It was LAFC’s lone goal – helping them getting a draw and one point against Dallas.

Beitashour’s goal can be equivalent to a pitcher hitting a home run in baseball or a linebacker scoring a touchdown in football.
