Antonio Vivaldi and I share the same birthday, March 4th. Except he was born in 1678, 303 years before me. For the longest time I always wondered about who should play Vivaldi in a biopic. And it just hit me : Paul Dano.
Vivaldi was a prolific Italian Baroque composer and virtuoso violinist. He is best known for his Four Seasons series of concertos.
Paul Dano is a Golden Globe nominated actor who has wide acting range. He has already directed a feature film as well, 2018’s film Wildlife. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for playing a musician in a biopic. He portrayed Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson in the biographical drama Love & Mercy.
Dano is known for his roles in There Will be Blood, 12 Years a Slave, Prisoners, and Little Miss Sunshine.
Vivaldi’s music is readily played three centuries after his death. He was one of the greatest violinsts of all time. And his music has stood the test of time. A story that Paul Dano could portray of Vivaldi’s, would be his transition as an opera composer to writing the music for Four Seasons. A film of historical fiction could also be produced.
