With all due respect to Lady Gaga and Angelina Jolie, Cleopatra MUST be played by Sofia Boutella. The internet has been buzzing about a new Cleopatra biopic. And rumors have swirled about Gaga and Jolie to play the part.
Sofia Boutella needs to play Cleopatra ! It’s that simple. We even asked Sofia about this casting opportunity of her to play Cleopatra at the Hotel Artemis premiere.
One reason Sofia needs to play her is her uncanny resemblance to Egyptian Pharaohs. Her role in The Mummy showed how Sofia can transform into an Egyptian Queen.
Another reason is that she is of Arab descent – being Algerian-French. Egypt is an Arab country. Neither Elizabeth Taylor nor Gaga or Jolie are qualified to play Cleopatra. Not because of a lack of acting talent, but because of the lack of authenticity.
The role of Cleopatra must be Sofia Boutella’s.
