Troy Loehr is like Uber in 2009. A name that is not quite in the household lexicon, but once it will become one, it will be ubiquitous. Loehr is a Los Angeles based actor and he is about to embark on a biopic project not seen since the likes of Val Kilmer playing Jim Morrison in the Oliver Stone film The Doors. Loehr is set to portray the late Pop Star George Michael in an authorized biopic that will hopefully become authorized, once the estate of George Michael sees the uncanny resemblance Loehr has to Michael.
Too many biopics are made each year with the actor not even closely portraying the historical figure or prominent character they are cast to play. Of course with prosthetics some improvements can be made. But even then it’s not believable. No offense to Gary Oldman.
Troy Loehr is an up-and-coming actor who is in pre-production to portray George Michael from 1985-1990 in a period piece that shows his rise with Wham! to becoming an international superstar as a solo artist.
George Michael died too early but left an indelible legacy in music. He still has millions of fans around the world. By watching Troy Loehr resemble him on screen, audiences will become emotionally drawn and think they are going back in time.
