Asghar Farhadi, has a couple of Oscars and has now directed an Oscar Power Couple – Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz in ‘Everybody Knows’ – which will open the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
Bardem won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for ‘No Country for Old Men’ and Cruz won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Vicky Christina Barcelona.
We wrote a previous article that Asghar Farhadi should be referred to as Oscar Farhadi because of his multiple wins.
He won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film for A Separation and The Salesman.
Everybody Knows was written and directed by Farhadi, and is about a Spanish woman (Cruz) living in Argentina who returns to her hometown outside Madrid. Upon returning with her husband and children, unexpected events occur that bring previous secrets out in the open.
