The Green Bay Packers are in the NFL Playoffs. With the Giants beating the Redskins on Sunday, Green Bay qualified for the postseason, for the eigth straight year. The Packers have won five straight games heading into their Sunday night matchup against the Detroit Lions. Their game against the Lions will help determine their Playoff seeding. One large contributing factor to the stellar play of the Packers and their making the postseason is Offensive Lineman, David Bakhtiari. Green Bay’s viruouso left tackle is in contention to make the Pro Bowl.
Week after week, Bakhtiari goes up against the best defensive ends that the Packers play against. And week after week he outplays his opponents. Against the Lions today he will be facing DE Ezekial Ansah. If Bakthari faces an above average defensive end, it is usually billed as one of the main matchups of the game, due to the star power that Bakhtiari beings to the field, each and every Sunday. Earlier this season Bakhtiari signed a lucrative contract extension, making him one of the top five highest paid Offensive Tackles.
Bakhtiari posses the rare combination of Herculean build with a nimble agility. For his size and position he is to the NFL what Demarcus Cousins is to the NBA. Size, Strength and unprecedented Quick Feet. In the Packers’ five game winning streak their success has been propelled by the blocking ability of Bakhtiari. Number 69 has helped protect QB Aaron Rodgers’ blind side almost flawlessly. In the last five weeks, Rodgers has thrown 11 TD’s and no interceptions. Bakhtiari is largerly credited for keeping Aaron Rodgers untouched and free to make plays.
Several weeks ago at the Office Christmas Party Hollywood Premiere and After Party we had a chance to have a conversation with Rodgers’ girlfriend Olivia Munn. Fortunately her BF’s face is in good hands, due to the protection provided by Rodgers’ BFF, the Packers O-Line, led by prolific Persian Packer David Bakhtiari.
