Four Ramin’s Who Are Making Their Mark in Hollywood

There are a growing number of talented filmakers, composers and writers of Iranian heritage who are making large strides in Hollywood. One such category is a group of talented Persians who’s first names are Ramin.

Ramin Karimloo, is a Tony Award nominated Broadway star who has appeared in a multitude of theatrical productions. Including but not limited to Miss SaigonPhantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies and Les Miserables, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award for his role of Jean Valjean. Karimloo can next be seen in the upcoming prodution of Anastasia on Broadway.

Ramin Djawadi is a film composer who’s film score credits include Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Safe House, Red Dawn, Pacific Rim, Warcraft, Game of Thrones and Westworld, to name a few. Djawadi will next be seen on a concert tour performing Game of Thrones music, live.

Ramin Bahrani, is a writer and director who’s credits include 99 Homes, starring Michael Shannon and Andrew Garfield. Bahrani is directing the upcoming film, The Professor and the Mad Man, starring Sean Penn and Mel Gibson. He is also adapting Ray Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451 for HBO.

Ramin Setoodeh is the New York Bureau Chief for Variety who has appeared on The Today Show, Fox News, and HLN, among other programs. He previously wrote for Newsweek and The Daily Beast. Setoodeh has interviewed countless Hollywood stars in his career. He regularly attends industry awards shows and galas for Variety.

It’s no secret that Tinseltown needs more storylines with Iranians at the forefront. In the meantime this foursome of Ramin’s is making their mark in Hollywood.
