Navid Negahban an actor synonymous with his role of Abu Nazir on Homeland is now part of the Disney family. He has been cast in the role of The Sultan in the upcoming live action remake of Aladdin. Negahban has worked alongside some Hollywood heavyweights including Bradley Cooper in American Sniper and 2017’s American Assassin opposite Michael Keaton. In Aladdin he will be co-starring with Will Smith, who will play the role of The Genie.
Negahban joins fellow Iranian American actress Nasim Pedrad in the upcoming Aladdin film. Pedrad will be playing the role of Dalia. Guy Ritchie is directing the Marc Platt and Dan Lin production set for a 2019 release.

Negahban, 49, is originally from Mashad, Iran. In Aladdin, as the role of The Sultan, he will be playing the ruler of Agrabah, and is eager to find a husband for his daughter Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott).
Negahban has worked his way into the A-List and 2019 can’t come soon enough.
