Navid Negahban has been best known for his role of Abu Nazir on Showtime’s Homeland. But that’s about to change. That breakout role has led to more mainstream parts including the film he is currently starring in theaters, 12 Strong. Negahban will also be starring as The Sultan in the upcoming Disney live action remake of Aladdin.
The Jerry Bruckheimer produced war film 12 Strong, tells the story of the first soldiers that volunteered to fight the Taliban after the September 11 terror attacks.
Negahban plays the role of General Dostum, who helps guide the American forces in battle against the Taliban. Dostum is now the Vice President of Afghanistan. Negahban is part of an All-Star cast including Chris Hemsworth, Michael Shannon, Elsa Pataky and Michael Pena.
