Nazanin Boniadi is set to star as journalist Rudi Bakhtiar in the film Bombshell. The film co-stars Charlize Theron, Margot Robie and Nicole Kidman. Bombshell centers upon female Fox News personnel and their allegations against founder Roger Ailes. John Lithgow will play Ailes.
Boniadi is an A-List Persian with a vast filmography. She is nominated for a ‘Best Actress Award’ at the AACTA for her performance in Hotel Mumbai.
Both Bakhtiar and Boniadi come from science backgrounds. Boniadi was Pre-Med, having graduated with honors in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine prior to switching to acting. Bakhtiar had been accepted to the NYU College of Dentistry prior to becoming a journalist.
Bakhtiar was a regular Prime Time fixture for many years on CNN Headline News prior to her stints at Fox News and Reuters. She also hosts a radio program at AM 670 KIRN.
Boniadi is known for her roles in Homeland, Ben-Hur, and Counterpart.
Bombshell is distributed by Lionsgate and is set for a December 13, 2019 release.
