Q+A with Model and Social Media Influencer Negin Tamajani

Negin Tamajani is not yet in college but has already amassed over thirty thousand Instagram followers and has become a go to social-media influencer. Tamajani is an Iranian Australian who is making strides Down Under. To catch up with this rising star in fashion and online media we caught up with Negin Tamajani who’s Instragram handle is @NeginTamajani :

Iman Sadri : Thank you for spending time with The Persian Observer. Please describe your early life, education and early bio ? Where you were born ? Where did you grew up ?

Negin Tamajani is a model and a brand influencer

Negin Tamajani : I was born in Tehran, Iran in but then my family decided to move to Turkey for a better life when I was only 7 years old, we stayed in Turkey for 5 years before we decided to move to Australia where we could have the freedom that we always desired.

IS: What were the influences that led you towards Instagram modeling?

Negin Tamajani : Growing up I always dreamed of becoming a model despite the fact that I would get made fun of everytime I told my friends about it. When I was 15 I tried to become an actual runway model and applied for almost every modeling agency, but unfortunately I got rejected from them agencies because of my height which was at the time (168 cm) and my weight (58 kg), as was considered as ‘too fat and too short’ for the industry, at first it was heart breaking, but I never gave up. I decided to do Instagram modeling when I found Negin Mirsalehi’s Instagram account and realized how successful she was even though she had the same height, name and ethnicity as me. That gave me so much hope when I was at the point of giving up. I thought maybe one day I could be as successful as she is, so I started taking photos.

IS : Do you have any other interests other than modeling?

Negin Tamajani : Yes, absolutely! I love music, movies and politics!

IS : You have a large following on social media ? What have been the contributing factors in your mind that have led to your follower growth ?

Negin Tamajani : A lot of hard work and patience, I spent so much time finding people who I thought would be interested in my content and buying shoutouts so i could get more people to visit my account.

IS : You are also an influencer on social media. What kinds of brands / products would you like to continue to showcase on social media ?

Negin Tamajani : The brands that I really want to work with are probably Dior and Tommy Hilfiger

IS : What are your modeling goals the next 5-10 years ?

Negin Tamajani : To collaborate with bigger brands and to improve my content

IS : What kind of modeling would you like to do ? Where would you like to live ? Etc.

Negin Tamajani : I definitely prefer Instagram modeling since it’s a very independent job, for instance nobody gets to tell me to lose weight or to pressure me into doing something that I don’t want to do.

IS : Would you like to pursue acting as well or only modeling ?

Negin Tamajani :Acting is definitely something I am considering to do in the future. I have been taking acting classes since age 5, and it is definitely something I am passionate about.

IS : Imagine you are 100 years old and reading your Wikipedia profile, what career / life milestones would you like to see on there ?

Negin Tamajani : I would like to see myself as an activist, actress and a model.
