Shohreh Aghdashloo is having a busy summer in Hollywood and deservedly so. The Academy Award nominated and Emmy winning Iranian American actress is starring in the upcoming drama The Promise, starring opposite Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac. She will be reunited with Isaac, who she starred with in The Nativity Story.

Aghashloo is already having a prolific summer box office season with her role of Commodore Paris in the blockbuster Star Trek Beyond. The J.J. Abrams produced Star Trek has grossed $319 Million since its July release.

In The Promise Aghdashloo plays the mother of Isaac’s character who is an Armenian medical student in Ottoman Turkey. Bale stars as an AP reporter who is also in Armenia. The Promise centers around the Armenian Genocide during the early 20th century.

Aghdashloo is no stranger to holding her own on screen with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. The Oscar nominee has starred opposite actors such as Ben Kingsley, Salma Hayek, Adrien Brody, Jennifer Garner and Blake Lively, to name a few. She has also starred alongside other formidable Iranian born actors, including Golshifteh Farahani, Navid Negahban and Shaun Toub.

Aghdashloo also starred in the recent Septembers of Shiraz, based on the novel by Dalia Sofer. With the many projects Aghdashloo has going on now including The Promise, The Expanse on the SyFY channel and Star Trek Beyond, these are really the Septembers of Shohreh.
