The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the world. In the U.S., California and New York have led way in implementing social distancing and stay at home measures. California Governor Gavin Newsom has been at the forefront of the state’s lead to flatten the curve of the virus.
The pandemic will subside and America will get back to business. In the near future the saga of the Coronavirus pandemic will be made into a film. One actor who should play Governor Newsom in a future Coronavirus pandemic film is Matthew McConaughey. The actor has a striking similarity to the California governor who has been very visible in the news during the pandemic.
Many believe Governor Newsom will soon run for President. Some even call him this generation’s JFK, due his youth and leadership in the Democratic party. McConaughey is an Oscar winning actor who delivers one poignant performance after another. In addition to Dallas Buyers Club several of his recent acting performances have been very underrated. He should have been nominated for more awards for Lincoln Lawyer, for example.
Nevertheless, the question then becomes who should play New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Coronavirus film. We like Sebastian Maniscalco or Robert De Niro, if de-aging technology from The Irishman can be used.
Matthew McConaughey can also play Governor Newsom in a separate biopic. One thing is certain, when the virus dissipates we can all say, ‘Alright, Alright, Alright.’
